Happy Monday! My reading has been taking a break along with my blogging. Mostly, I have only read school material, but this week I got to pick up a book I have been wanting to read…YAY! Lets jump right into my most recent books…
Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman (Arc of a Scythe #2)
This book is the second one in the Arc of a Scythe series. I was first introduced to this series when taking Adolescence Literature and I fell in love with the first book because of its dystopian nature. Not going to lie, I was worried that I would not like this book as much as I liked the first book, but I am only a couple of chapters in and I cannot put it down haha. Hopefully I finish it up this week and can give you a review next Monday.
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
The fate of the world is in the hands of six teenagers. These street rats have no family and no one to look after them. They have to break into an impenetrable fortress, free an highly guarded prisoner and try not to kill one another. Each one has their own goals, motives, pain, life story and more. Everything depends on them.
I finished this book over my vacation to Hawaii and wow…there are honestly no words. This book was absolutely amazing and beautifully written! Honestly, no review I write will do this masterpiece justice so here’s a short review.
Best Friends by Shannon Hale and LeUyen Pham (Real Friends #2)
Sixth grade is hard. New friends form, you loose old friends, your body changes, puberty starts and everyone starts the awkward pre-dating experience. This book follows Shannon and her group of friends through the changes and trials of junior high.
The sequel to the award-winning graphic novel memoir, “Real Friends.” Shannon Hale does not disappoint. Her depiction of anxiety and friendship in middle school was so accurate. I highly recommend reading both books from her.
