It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? #IMWAYR 05/25/2020

It’s Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme started by Jen at Teach Mentor Texts and Kellee at Unleashing Readers and share all of your readings of the week.

Happy Memorial Day Everyone! This week I spent a lot of time planning to start running Mini Summer Camp at my job. I will be taking over working with Kindergarten and 1st Graders throughout the summer and I am so excited! As for my readings, I mostly focused on school reading but got in some fun reading as well.

Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman (Arc of a Scythe #2)

Okay, I am not finished with this book, but am about halfway through now. I am happy to report I LOVE it so far. Hopefully I am able to finish the book this week so I can give you all a full review next week.

Nine Ideas About Language by Harvey A. Daniels

This week I seemed to spend most of my reading time reading literature for school. I found this article I read for my Grammar and Linguistics course to be very interesting. Overall, the article talks about different concepts of language from how children learn language, not through being taught but trial and error, to the differences in styles and dialects of speaking. This article was slightly hard for me to get through at first but I really enjoyed it once I got into the mode of reading more technical writing. I would definitely read the article if you have any interests in language or the study of English language.

Here is the link for the article if you are so inclined to read it 🙂

Thanks for stopping by, reading, and sharing your thoughts. Have a great week!

  1. I have Thunderhead on my summer reading list and I’m so excited to finally be getting back into this trilogy. I LOVED book #1 and am ready for more. I couldn’t get the link to your article to work, but I sure hope you enjoy Grammar & Linguistics this summer. Have a wonderful reading week, Destiny!

    1. Scythe was such a good book! I wonder why my link didn’t work, I’ll have to take a look at it. Thanks for letting me know. You gave a wonderful week of reading as well 🙂

  2. Do you think Thunderhead will make a good traveling book on tape or a good project audio book? I am looking for team readers that keep my pace going without demanding a “classic” type of concentration.
